Pro Bono Suicide Prevention Consultation

For Texas-Based Providers Working with Youth at Elevated Risk

Confidential  •  No Fee  •  Texas Clinicians, Counselors & Pediatricians

(512) 240-2633

If you are a Texas-based clinician, school counselor, pediatrician, or behavioral health provider working with a child or adolescent at elevated risk for suicide, you do not have to carry that case alone. Little Dove Psychology offers pro bono consultation on pediatric and adolescent suicide prevention to community providers across Texas.

This is not therapy and it is not supervision of record. It is a confidential, collegial space to think through a difficult case with a psychologist whose clinical and systems-level work has been focused on suicide prevention for years.

Background in This Work

Outside of my private practice, my professional life has centered on building safer systems of care for young people at risk:

  • Consultant to the Mental and Behavioral Health Department at Children's Wisconsin, with focused projects on pediatric and adolescent suicide prevention.
  • Works with Zero Suicide implementation within the Children's Wisconsin system — including risk screening, pathway development, clinician training, and care transitions for the highest-acuity patients.
  • Provides weekly consultation on high-acuity cases as a consulting supervisor, offering clinical guidance on cases involving suicidal ideation, prior attempts, and complex risk presentations.
  • Member of the Suicide Prevention Committee workgroup at Children's Wisconsin.
  • Nationally, through her partnership with Children's Wisconsin, serves as a workgroup member with the Children's Hospital Association Behavioral Health Learning Collaborative — collaborating with peer institutions across the country on best practices in pediatric behavioral health and suicide prevention.

That background is what I bring into these consultations. It is not credentialing for its own sake — it is the lens through which I think about risk, safety planning, family involvement, transitions of care, and the very real weight providers carry when a young patient is in crisis.

What This Consultation Looks Like

A single case consultation, or an ongoing thinking partnership — whichever fits your need.

Typical reasons providers reach out:

Consultations are conducted by Zoom or phone. There is no fee, no commitment, and no expectation that the patient becomes a referral to my practice.

What This Consultation Is Not

This is not crisis intervention. If a child is in immediate danger, please contact 988, your local mobile crisis team, or the nearest emergency department.

It is also not a transfer of clinical responsibility — the patient remains under your care — and it is not a substitute for required supervision or your own institution's risk protocols.

How to Request a Consultation

Texas-licensed or Texas-based providers can reach out directly. Please include a brief, de-identified note about what kind of consultation would be most helpful and your preferred way to connect. I will respond within two business days.
