Little Dove Psychology is an online practice that provides ADHD therapy to children, teens, college students, and adults anywhere in Texas and the other PSYPACT participating states: executive function coaching, cognitive behavioral therapy, and parent coaching, in 60-minute video sessions. Our clinicians are in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and Optum/UnitedHealthcare (including Oscar plans administered by Optum), most clients start within the same week, and we coordinate with your prescriber if medication is part of the plan. If you need a diagnosis first, we also offer ADHD evaluations for clients ages 6 through 55 who are located in Texas.

What does ADHD therapy look like for a child?

You have asked for shoes three times, the backpack is open on the floor, and it is already late. You are not a disorganized family. You have charts and timers, and by Tuesday the wheels are off again.

For children, ADHD therapy leans heavily on parent coaching, because a younger child's executive function mostly lives outside their head for now. We build external structure that holds up in a real week: visual routines, fewer and clearer instructions, reward systems that do not depend on the tenth reminder. With your permission, we coordinate with teachers so school and home use the same playbook.

What does ADHD therapy look like for a teen?

With teens, the work shifts toward them. The most common pattern I see is the capable kid whose effort disappears somewhere between "done" and "turned in." That gap is usually executive function, and it responds well to direct coaching: planning, getting started, time awareness, and breaking big assignments into steps small enough to begin. We also use CBT for the frustration and self-doubt that pile up after years of hearing "not working to potential," and DBT-informed emotion regulation skills for teens whose ADHD comes with big feelings. Parent coaching continues, shifting from managing the teen to backing them up.

How does ADHD therapy help college students?

College removes every outside structure at once. ADHD therapy for college students focuses on the practical side of independent life, including reading the syllabus into a calendar, planning around deadlines, getting work done without all-nighters, and not burning out by November. Students 18 and older are the client, and family involvement happens on their terms. Video sessions work well for students away at school, with evening times that fit around class. More on our therapy for college students page.

What is executive function coaching?

Executive function is the brain's management system: planning, starting, organizing, keeping track of time, and following through. Executive function coaching teaches those skills directly and builds systems (planners, calendars, checklists, routines) that survive contact with a real week. Online, we build and review the actual calendar and assignment portal on a shared screen instead of talking about them in the abstract.

How is ADHD therapy different from ADHD testing?

Testing answers the question "what is going on?" Therapy changes daily life. An ADHD evaluation at Little Dove is performed by one of our neuropsychologists, Dr. Kiersten Sippio, PsyD, or Dr. Donald Caudle, PhD, for clients ages 6 through 55 who are located in Texas at the appointment, and it also looks for the things that imitate ADHD, like anxiety or a processing weakness. You can read about it on our ADHD testing and adult ADHD testing pages.

You do not always need formal testing before starting therapy. If there is already a diagnosis, we work alongside it. If there is not, we talk through on the consultation whether an evaluation would change the plan, for example for a 504 plan, college accommodations, or a medication conversation.

Do you prescribe ADHD medication?

No. We are psychologists, so our lane is evaluation and therapy. We stay neutral on medication. When medication is part of the plan, we coordinate with your pediatrician, psychiatrist, or primary care doctor so everyone works from the same information, and therapy builds the skills a prescription cannot teach.

Who provides ADHD therapy at Little Dove Psychology?

Dr. Donald Caudle, PhD, a clinical neuropsychologist, treats ADHD and behavioral concerns in therapy as well as evaluating them. Other members of our clinical team, listed on our team page, also work with ADHD, and Dr. Kroll matches you with the clinician whose training, schedule, and insurance panels fit on the free consultation.

Frequently asked questions about online ADHD therapy in Texas

Can ADHD therapy be done online in Texas?

Yes. Little Dove Psychology provides ADHD therapy by secure video anywhere in Texas and the other PSYPACT participating states. Executive function coaching works especially well on a shared screen.

What ages do you see for ADHD therapy?

We provide ADHD therapy for children, teens, college students, and adults.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis before starting therapy?

Not always. If there is already a diagnosis, we work alongside it. If not, we talk through on the free consultation whether an evaluation would change the plan. Little Dove offers ADHD evaluations for clients ages 6 through 55 who are located in Texas.

Does insurance cover ADHD therapy?

Our clinicians are in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, and Optum/UnitedHealthcare (including Oscar plans administered by Optum), and we verify your benefits before anything is scheduled. We do not accept Medicaid or CHIP. Self-pay clients can use a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.

Do you prescribe ADHD medication?

No. Little Dove Psychology does not prescribe. When medication is part of the plan, we coordinate with the pediatrician, psychiatrist, or primary care doctor so therapy and medication work from the same information.

What kind of therapist is best for ADHD?

Look for a clinician trained in behavioral strategies, cognitive behavioral therapy, and executive function coaching, plus experience coaching parents. For a formal diagnosis, you want a provider who does ADHD evaluations.

My teen is smart but never turns work in. Is that ADHD?

It might be. The gap between finished work and turned-in work is usually an executive function problem, and it is common in teens with ADHD. Anxiety can look similar, and an evaluation can sort out the cause if it is unclear.

Do you work with adults who have ADHD?

Yes. Adults anywhere in Texas and the other PSYPACT participating states can see us for ADHD therapy, and adults through age 55 located in Texas can have an ADHD evaluation. You do not need to be the parent of a client.

How do you measure progress in ADHD therapy?

Clients complete brief validated questionnaires at intake and every four weeks, including a measure of progress toward the specific goal you named at the start. Your clinician reviews the results with you and adjusts the plan if something is not working.

ADHD is not a character flaw, and the skills can be taught.

A free 15-minute call with Dr. Kroll will sort out whether therapy, testing, or both is the right place to start. Call or text (512) 240-2633, or book online.
