Little Dove Psychology is a virtual psychology practice based in Austin, staffed by licensed psychologists and licensed psychological associates. We see clients across Texas and the other PSYPACT participating states, by secure video, from wherever you have a door you can close. Every new client speaks with our founder, Dr. Kristin Kroll, before anything is scheduled, and most people have a first session within about a week of that call.
Concerns we treat
- Anxiety and chronic worry, including the kind that shows up as 3 a.m. case review and a body that never fully powers down.
- Depression, low mood, and loss of drive, often hidden behind a full docket.
- Burnout and overwork: billable-hour pressure, exhaustion, and cynicism about work you once cared about.
- Perfectionism and imposter feelings, especially in the early years and after a move to partner or the bench.
- Adult ADHD: missed deadlines, disorganization, procrastination, and trouble sustaining focus on long documents.
- Irritability, anger, and emotion regulation under constant adversarial pressure.
- Secondary trauma from criminal, family, immigration, and personal injury caseloads.
- Career transitions: the bar exam, a new firm, partnership, a move to the bench, or leaving practice.
- Strain at home: boundaries between work and family, relationship stress, and parenting while practicing.
When someone needs care we do not provide, such as substance use treatment, medication management, or a higher level of care, we say so plainly and, with your permission, help you find the right provider.
How we treat
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
- DBT-informed skills for emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
- Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) for burnout, values, and perfectionism.
- Exposure-based treatment for panic, performance anxiety, and avoidance.
- Executive-function support after an ADHD evaluation: systems that fit how you actually work.
- Measurement-based care: validated measures at intake and every four weeks, so you and your clinician can see whether treatment is working, not just feel it.
Confidential and separate from the Bar
Your care is protected health information. Nothing is shared with the State Bar, your firm, or a court without your written authorization, except where the law requires it. Sessions are by secure video, so there is no waiting room to walk through.
Therapy
Weekly or biweekly 50-minute sessions by secure video, with early-morning, evening, and weekend times available. Individual therapy is $150 to $225 per session self-pay, depending on the clinician, and the 15-minute phone consultation is free. Most new clients are seen within about a week of their first call.
Testing and evaluation
Adult evaluations through age 55, completed virtually for clients located in Texas. Each includes testing, scoring, record review, interpretation, an individualized written report, and a live feedback session, with no separate hourly charges added afterward. Reports are written to hold up outside our office.
- Comprehensive ADHD evaluation: $2,200
- Comprehensive autism evaluation: $2,500
- Dyslexia and reading evaluation: $2,200
- Combined ADHD and autism evaluation: $3,000
- Comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation: $3,500
Those are self-pay prices. Full-scale IQ and some learning-disorder testing require in-person administration. More detail is on our adult ADHD evaluation and psychological testing pages.
Insurance
We are in network for both therapy and testing with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Optum / UnitedHealthcare, and Oscar Health. Before any testing begins, our billing team verifies your benefits and secures prior authorization, so you know your projected cost up front. Out-of-network and out-of-state clients are self-pay and receive a superbill; HSA and FSA funds apply.
Why lawyers choose us
- Doctoral-level clinicians who understand high-stakes, high-accountability work.
- Fully virtual: from chambers, your office, or home, anywhere in Texas.
- Direct access. Every new client speaks with our founder, Dr. Kristin Kroll, before scheduling.
Common questions
Will anyone at the State Bar or my firm know I am in treatment?
No. Your records are protected health information. We do not release anything to the State Bar, your firm, or a court without your written authorization, except where the law requires it.
Can I be seen if I am outside Texas?
Therapy is available across Texas and the other PSYPACT participating states. Evaluations are Texas only: psychological testing requires Texas licensure, is not covered by PSYPACT, and is available to clients located in Texas at the time of the appointment.
How soon can I start?
The free 15-minute consultation usually happens within a day or two, and most new clients have a first session within about a week. Evaluations are typically scheduled within one week.
I am a law student. Do you work with students?
Yes. We see law students for therapy and for adult ADHD, autism, and dyslexia evaluations. A student on a parent's Texas plan with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Optum / UnitedHealthcare, or Oscar Health is usually still in network.
What if you are not the right fit?
We tell you on the consultation. If you need substance use treatment, medication management, or a higher level of care, we say so and help you get there, coordinating with other providers with your permission.
